How Goodharbour
handles your information.
Last updated September 15, 2026.
Goodharbour is operated by Good Harbour Software, a sole proprietorship based in Victoria, British Columbia.
Information I collect
Project inquiries
When you send the contact form, I collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, subject and project details.
Email correspondence
When you email me or reply to a message, I retain the information in that correspondence so I can respond and manage the conversation.
Website analytics and security
Google Analytics collects website usage, approximate location, and browser/device information. Its default implementation uses the first-party _ga cookie with a random client identifier. Goodharbour does not send contact-form contents, names, email addresses, or custom user IDs to analytics.
The website also uses Cloudflare for hosting and security. Security systems may process request information to protect the website from abuse.
How I use the information
I use personal information to review and respond to inquiries, decide whether a project is a fit, prepare a scope or proposal when requested, communicate about active work, and protect the website from abuse. I use analytics for understanding website usage and improving the site, not advertising or selling information.
I do not sell personal information or use contact-form details for unrelated marketing. There is no newsletter at launch.
Service providers
I use Google Analytics for website analytics; Cloudflare for website delivery and Turnstile security checks; Resend for contact-form email delivery; and my email provider for receiving, storing and replying to messages. Google and these providers may process information outside Canada under their own privacy and security terms.
Contact-form messages are emailed to karim@goodharbour.ca. The form does not store a separate copy in a Goodharbour website database. Limited delivery and security logs may be retained without the full message body or email address.
Retention and your choices
Inquiries that do not become active work are normally deleted after 12 months. Active client correspondence and business records are kept as needed for the engagement and legal, accounting or contractual obligations. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to investigate abuse and maintain the service.
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information I hold, subject to legal obligations. You may also ask how it has been used or disclosed. Send requests to karim@goodharbour.ca.
Security
I use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls and service-provider security features.
No online system is completely risk-free, so please do not send passwords, API keys, customer exports, payment-card information or other sensitive credentials through the contact form.
Changes
I may update this policy when the website, service providers or information practices change. The updated date will appear at the top of this page.
