Shopify & Ecommerce

Shopify development
for the store you already run.

I help established brands build storefront features, resolve technical problems, and connect Shopify with the other tools they use.

You work directly with me from the first conversation through release, on defined projects or ongoing development.

Discuss Shopify work

When the work touches
more than one part of the store

A product-page change may affect the cart, subscriptions or tracking. Customer data may be available in Shopify but missing from another tool. A feature may need an app or backend behind it.

I look at those connections before deciding where and how to make the change.

Storefronts and buying paths

Product and collection pages, cart, search, subscriptions, app integrations, accessibility and structured data. I work within the existing theme and check the connected customer paths.

Customer and product data

Preferences, registrations, saved configurations and other information your team needs to collect or use. I work with Shopify data and the applications that depend on it.

Apps and integrations

Custom Shopify applications, APIs, webhooks and Rails backends. This can include connecting marketing tools, handling subscription changes or moving order data into an internal system.

A project in practice · Subscriptions

Keeping subscription changes
in sync

Subscription changes can affect related fees or deposits, not only the item a customer sees. For an anonymized DTC Shopify brand, I built a Rails integration that listened for lifecycle events from the subscription platform and matched the related records using Shopify product data.

The backend used webhooks and background processing to keep required fee or deposit subscriptions aligned when customers updated, skipped, swapped or cancelled. This enabled related subscriptions to stay coordinated as the main subscription moved through its lifecycle.

This is an anonymized client project.

Experience inside live stores

Since 2017, I’ve worked on dozens of Shopify stores through direct client projects and agency work. Nearly three years of that experience was at PIVOT, a Shopify Plus agency partner, where I contributed to more than 20 DTC storefronts.

The work covered storefront features, third-party integrations, analytics, subscriptions and ongoing development in inherited themes.

“Working with Karim has been a great experience. An exceptional Shopify developer who is dependable and highly professional. Always meets deadlines, communicates clearly, and writes efficient, well-structured code. What really stands out is his ability to think outside the box and offer creative solutions that elevate the project beyond expectations. A true asset to any team. Would absolutely work with Karim again.”

FieldsRaven:
an app I built and maintain

FieldsRaven for Shopify

Build custom
storefront features.

With your AI agent.

No AI agent required. You can also configure fields in the app and add the generated code to your theme.

Product registrationA home for every purchase.
Customer wishlistsKeep the favourites.
Saved configurationsMake it theirs. Save it.

Customer profiles from quizzes · Saved vehicle details

FieldsRaven lets merchants collect information through their storefronts, including customer preferences, registrations and saved configurations. It can send that information to Shopify, Klaviyo and Airtable.

One merchant used it to let customers save rug designs to their accounts.

“A critical function that we needed was for customers to be able to design rugs and save them to their account. The only way I could figure to make this happen was through the use of metafields. I found FieldsRaven organically in the Shopify App Store... I created a JSON metafield and was able to get it to work. It's an extremely useful app to have.”

StoreAudit:
a closer look at storefront information

StoreAudit

Your store.
Through AI’s eyes.

Public sample report.
Demonstration scores, not a client result.

I also built StoreAudit. It checks product information, structured data and other storefront signals, then presents the findings in a report with recommendations.

You can use it as a starting point when reviewing how AI search and shopping systems understand your store.
